Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.

Transfer to Kampala

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a professional safari guide from Africa Gorilla Encounter Limited. After a short welcome briefing, you will be transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala for rest and acclimatization.

If time allows, you may enjoy optional excursions such as visiting the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, birdwatching along Lake Victoria, or a sunset stroll. Your evening is spent relaxing as you prepare for your primate safari adventure.

After lunch at your lodge, enjoy an afternoon excursion to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project known for primates, butterflies, and rich birdlife including the Great Blue Turaco. This is an excellent warm-up for the following day’s chimpanzee encounters.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi Park Headquarters for a detailed briefing about gorilla trekking rules and safety. With experienced rangers and trackers, you will begin your trek through thick vegetation, steep terrain, and cool montane forest in search of your allocated gorilla family.

Depending on the gorillas’ movement, trekking may last 2–8 hours. Once found, you are allowed one hour to observe and photograph these gentle giants. Witnessing a silverback, mothers nursing their infants, and playful juveniles is a breathtaking experience that defines Uganda Gorilla Safaris.
